What We Do

COYOTE FILM & PRODUCE LLC is a fully-independent company dedicated to producing the kind of cinema that is rarely made in the contemporary film world. While most copy-cat cinema is driven by marketing, money, fans, nepotism, deal-making, dubious cultural politics, sex, drugs, and/or debased cravings for attention, COYOTE FILM & PRODUCE LLC seeks to operate on an uncontaminated ethical basis.

Who We Are

Walt Morton and Eric Coyote (aka Eric Gregory) met in the graduate film program at the University of Southern California. Combined, they have over seventy years of storytelling experience and have seen and analyzed 4,751 films in the cinema with live audiences. Both are authors of bestselling novels. Walt’s novel “American Ghoul” has over 100 five star reviews on Amazon while Eric’s novel “The Long Drunk” was named to Kirkus Review’s Best of 2012 list. Walt and Eric will be the most interesting people you'll ever work with, if you're lucky.

We don't follow any rules except these:

  1. No scenes shall be so dark you can’t see what the hell is going on.
  2. No unseemly camera movement.
  3. No gratuitous violence or pointless dripping gore.
  4. There will be no references to movies, television shows, or popular culture.
  5. Films will not shy away from difficult or controversial material.
  6. All films must maintain their internal logic and suspend our disbelief.
  7. All films will embrace the improvisational natural aesthetic of wabi-sabi.
  8. All films shall be cool ideas constructed in an unpretentious way.
  9. No bullshit. No jerking off.
